Melbourne Vixens squad member Gabby Coffey has advised the club that she has accepted an opportunity to play overseas in 2025.
Hailing from Alice Springs, the 24-year-old Wiradjuri woman moved to Melbourne on a scholarship as a teen, where she moved up the netball pathway.
In her fourth season as a Melbourne Vixens squad member, Gabby had a taste of Suncorp Super Netball in her quarter at wing defence for the Vixens in Round 6 this year and has nipped at the heels of the world’s best players since her Magpies debut in 2022.
Immersing herself in the Netball Victoria pathway, at VNL level, the smart and athletic defender has been a formidable force and leader at Melbourne University Lightning, where she has played since 2017.
Gabby is also part of the First Nations Black Swans side at this week’s Australian National Championships.
“Gabby’s dedication to the Vixens program and her leadership amongst the team, even as a young player, has made her a valuable member of the squad since 2021,” said Melbourne Vixens General Manager – High Performance and Pathways, Megan Simpson.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for Gabby and we wish her all the best.”
Earlier this month, the Melbourne Vixens confirmed their completed roster for the 2025 season.
