Melbourne Vixens sign Carys Stythe for 2027

The Melbourne Vixens are pleased to announce New Zealand defender Carys Stythe has signed with the club for the 2027 Super Netball season.

The 23-year-old circle defender arrives with an exciting blend of height, athleticism and ball-winning instinct, adding further depth and international quality to the Vixens’ defensive end.

Standing at 1.92m, Stythe can cover both goalkeeper and goal defence, and has built a reputation as a rangy, competitive defender who hunts the ball and challenges opposition shooters with her reach and timing.

Stythe won back-to-back ANZ Premiership titles with the Northern Mystics before joining the Southern Steel, where her strong domestic form helped earn selection in the Silver Ferns squad and an international debut in 2025.

Melbourne Vixens Head Coach Di Honey said Stythe’s signing was an important addition as the club continues to shape its 2027 list.

“Carys is an exciting young defender with genuine presence, athleticism and a strong appetite to keep learning,” Honey said.

“She brings international experience, championship pedigree from New Zealand and the versatility to impact across both defensive circle positions. We think she will be a great fit for our environment and the way we want to play.”

Stythe said she was thrilled to be joining the Vixens and excited by the opportunity to test herself in the Super Netball league.

“I’m super excited to join the Vixens and can’t wait for the 2027 season,” Stythe said.
