Melbourne Vixens captain Kate Moloney has re-signed with the club ahead of the 2027 Super Netball season.

Melbourne Vixens captain Kate Moloney will continue her remarkable one club career, re-signing with the club as the side builds towards the 2027 Super Netball season and its next premiership campaign.

Moloney once again underlined her importance in 2026, finishing the season with 430 feeds, 220 goal assists and 41 pickups while playing a pivotal role in the Vixens' run to the Grand Final. Her re-signing provides valuable continuity and leadership as the club looks to take the next step in 2027.

A product of the Victorian netball pathway, Moloney has become synonymous with the Melbourne Vixens across a decorated career spanning more than a decade. Since making her debut in 2013, she has played 208 national league matches, captained the side since 2017 and led the Vixens to the 2020 and 2025 Suncorp Super Netball premierships.

A multiple time Vixens Most Valuable Player, Australian Diamonds representative and Commonwealth Games medal winner, Moloney remains one of the competition’s premier midcourters, combining elite consistency with exceptional leadership.

Her achievements at international level have further cemented her status as one of Australia's leading midcourters. Moloney made her Australian Diamonds debut in 2017 and has since established herself as a key member of the national program, earning 58 Test caps and was named Diamonds vice-captain in 2025.

A Commonwealth Games gold medallist with the Diamonds in Birmingham in 2022, Moloney returned to the international stage this year in Glasgow, helping Australia claim bronze. The result added another major international honour to a career that has seen her become one of the most experienced leaders in Australian netball.

Melbourne Vixens Head Coach Di Honey said securing Moloney's signature was significant for the club as it continues to build towards another premiership campaign.

"Kate's impact on the Melbourne Vixens extends far beyond what she does on court. She is one of the defining players in our club's history – a premiership captain, a Diamonds representative and someone who has consistently embodied everything the Vixens stand for," Honey said.

"To play more than 200 national league games for one club is an extraordinary achievement. Her loyalty, professionalism and leadership have helped shape the identity of this organisation, and we're thrilled she'll continue with the club next season."

For Moloney, the decision to remain at the only club she has represented was an easy one.

"The Melbourne Vixens have been my home throughout my entire career, so to continue wearing this dress means everything to me," Moloney said.

"I still feel as driven as ever to improve and to chase another premiership together. Falling short this season has only strengthened our resolve, and I'm excited about what this group can achieve. I can't wait to get back to work alongside my teammates and continue building something special."
