Premiership defender Rudi Ellis will depart Melbourne Vixens ahead of the 2027 Suncorp Super Netball season.
Melbourne Vixens have confirmed that defender Rudi Ellis (player #62) will depart the squad ahead of the 2027 Suncorp Super Netball season. Melbourne Vixens thanking her for her contribution over the past three seasons.
Originally a Vixens training partner in 2018-19, Ellis has been part of the Vixens’ defensive end since returning to Victoria from West Coast Fever and was part of the 2025 premiership-winning team.
Ellis made her Australian Diamonds debut in 2024 and was added to the 2025/26 Origin Australian Diamonds squad as a Temporary Replacement Player for Paige Hadley.
She played a total of 49 games for the Vixens, including 16 in the recently completed season, to take her SSN career total to 80.
Melbourne Vixens Head Coach Di Honey thanked Ellis for her contribution to the club.
“Rudi has made a valuable contribution to the Vixens during her time with the club and will always be remembered as a premiership player,” Honey said.
“We have appreciated her commitment to our club and the role she has played within our defensive group since she joined us. We thank Rudi for her time with the Vixens and wish her well for the next chapter.”
Ellis said she was grateful for her time with the Vixens and the opportunity to be part of the club’s success in recent years.
“I’m really grateful for the opportunity I had to be part of the Melbourne Vixens family - three years, three grand finals and an unforgettable 2025 premiership win with an unbelievable group of girls,” Ellis said.
