Defender Maggie Caris will depart Melbourne Vixens following the 2026 season, capping five years with the club including a 2025 premiership.
Melbourne Vixens defender Maggie Caris will depart the club following the 2026 season, with the 23-year-old set to pursue a new opportunity in Super Netball.
Caris (Vixens #66) joined the Vixens program as a training partner and spent four years developing within the club’s pathway before being elevated to the main squad in 2025 as a replacement player for Emily Mannix.
She made her Vixens debut in Round 1 of the 2025 season, going on to make seven appearances for the club.
In 2026, Caris was named Vixens Academy co-vice-captain and elevated as the Vixens’ 11th player, further recognising her development and contribution to the program.
Her representative pathway has also included selection in the Australian 21/U squad in 2023, alongside extensive Victorian pathway experience.
Vixens Head Coach Di Honey thanked Caris for her contribution and praised the growth she has shown throughout her time at the club.
“Maggie has been an important part of our program for the past five years, and we’ve loved watching her grow into the player and person she is today,” Honey said.
“While we’re disappointed to see Maggie leave, we’re excited for her next opportunity and wish her all the very best. She will always be a Vixen.”
Reflecting on her time at the club, Caris said she was grateful for the opportunities, memories and relationships built during her five years with the Vixens.
“I’m forever grateful for the past five years at the Vixens and every opportunity along the way,” Caris said.
“From debuting at #66 to an unforgettable premiership, I will always cherish the memories and friendships I’ve made.
“The Vixens will always hold a very special place in my heart. Thank you to the coaches, support staff, the fans and my teammates for making it such an incredible journey.”
