Goaler Sophie Garbin has re-signed with the Vixens ahead of 2027, off the back of a 2025 premiership win and a 2000-goal national league milestone.

Melbourne Vixens goaler Sophie Garbin (Vixens #63) has re-signed with the club ahead of the 2027 Super Netball season.

Since joining the Vixens in 2024, Garbin has quickly become a pivotal part of the club’s attacking end, combining elite shooting ability, versatility and composure under pressure. She also played a key role in the club’s 2025 Suncorp Super Netball premiership triumph, earning Player of the Finals honours for her standout performances throughout the finals series.

Melbourne Vixens Head Coach Di Honey said Garbin’s impact on the court and within the group made her recommitment a significant moment for the club.

"Sophie is an incredibly important player for this group. Her ability to deliver in the big moments, her competitiveness and the standards she sets every day are qualities that make her such a valuable part of our team," Honey said.

"She understands what it takes to succeed at the highest level and continues to grow as a leader within our program. Having Sophie recommit to the Vixens is a fantastic outcome as we continue to build towards future success."

Garbin continued to demonstrate her influence throughout the 2026 Suncorp Super Netball season, recording 556 goals, 165 feeds and 94 goal assists while reaching a significant career milestone in round 2 as she became a 2000 national league goal scorer.

A proven performer across the national league, Garbin made her debut in 2018 and has continued to build an impressive career at both club and representative level, including winning Netball World Cup gold with the Australian Diamonds in 2023 and Commonwealth Games bronze in 2026.

For Garbin, the opportunity to continue her journey with the Vixens represents an exciting next chapter.

"I’m incredibly proud to continue wearing the navy dress. The Vixens welcomed me from day one, and I love being part of this team," Garbin said.

"Representing Australia at this year’s Commonwealth Games has been a career highlight, and I’m grateful for every experience along the way. I can’t wait to keep chasing success with the Vixens."
