WHAT TO EXPECT
Netball is back in Melbourne, and the city is set to come alive this Easter Sunday as the undefeated Melbourne Vixens host their first home game of the 2026 Suncorp Super Netball season. Fresh off a heart-stopping one-goal Derby victory, the Vixens return to John Cain Arena with momentum on their side, a home crowd ready to roar, and the 2025 Championship flag set to be proudly unveiled at 3:30pm.

The fourth-placed Sunshine Coast Lightning shapes as a fierce challenge, having won their last two matches by just one goal. With the Vixens sitting second on the ladder and undefeated so far, expect intensity, precision, and high energy from the opening whistle as both teams battle it out on court.

Riding their strong start to the season, the Vixens will be looking to extend their winning streak and deliver a commanding performance at home, while the Lightning will be eager to build on their narrow victories and climb further up the ladder in what promises to be an electric Easter showdown.

ONE TO WATCH
Hannah Mundy continues to emerge as a central force in the Vixens’ 2026 campaign. In round 3 she posted 90 net points with 39 feeds and 23 goal assists. Her sharp vision, calm execution and relentless work rate make her a standout in the midcourt.

Known for sparking attacking momentum and elevating those around her, Mundy’s transitional speed and poise under pressure have become match defining. Expect her to be instrumental once again as she shapes the tempo and drives the Vixens forward.

THE NUMBER
123 – Last time the teams met, Kiera Austin dominated in attack, racking up 123 Nissan Net Points and backing it up with 23 goals, 19 goal assists, and 20 feeds. She showed incredible composure under pressure and will be tough to stop if she hits that form again on Sunday afternoon.

THE COACH SAYS
“It is great to be playing our first home game back in Melbourne this weekend, made even more special with the unveiling of the Championship flag. We’re preparing for a tough contest out on court,” said head coach Di Honey.
