Round 2 Preview | GIANTS vs Vixens
The Vixens aim for consecutive wins to kickstart their 2026 season as they head to Qudos Bank Arena to face GIANTS Netball this Sunday.
Fans are in for a huge day of netball, with a blockbuster double header. It’s New South Wales teams taking on Victorian teams in back-to-back action.
Adding to the excitement, Emily Mannix will make her first Suncorp Super Netball appearance since 2024, returning from parental leave. The defender’s comeback is sure to be a highlight, and her presence will strengthen the Vixens’ defensive pressure.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Having started their 2026 campaign with a strong win against the Queensland Firebirds, the Vixens will be eager to continue their winning streak as they travel to take on the GIANTS. Expect the home side to come out determined, searching for their first win of the season.
Kate Moloney, who was named Player of the Match in Round 1, will lead the Vixens’ midcourt with her trademark drive and intensity, while the attacking end looks to maintain their sharpness and creativity. The Vixens will focus on keeping the pressure on, controlling the pace, and executing their game plan with precision.
With last week’s momentum behind them, the Vixens will aim to build on their performance and deliver another thrilling display this Sunday.

ONE TO WATCH
Kiera Austin’s composure under pressure, smart movement across the court, and attacking IQ can turn a game single-handedly. Coming off Round 1, she posted a 93.1% shooting accuracy, along with 79 net points, 17 feeds and 9 goal assists. This weekend, she may be matched against GIANTS newcomer Jane Watson, who recorded 10 deflections in Round 1 – the most of any player across the competition. It promises to be an intriguing combination, with both players bringing pace, intensity, and athleticism.
