The Melbourne Vixens have again dominated national selection, with five Vixens featured in the extended 2025-26 Australian Diamonds squad - the most of any Suncorp Super Netball team this year.
24-year-old midcourter Hannah Mundy has earnt selection again as she pushes for a national debut, while established Diamonds Kate Moloney and Kiera Austin, and book-end utilities in Jo Weston and Sophie Garbin have also been named.
Dynamic shooting duo Austin and Garbin have continued to impress with their connection in attack at domestic level this season, while Weston's versatility and work rate have seen her having an impact across all three defensive positions. Vixens captain Moloney's selection follows another season of consistent performances and strong leadership, while fellow midcourter Mundy took her game to a new level in the first half of this season prior to being sidelined by a foot injury after Round 10.
Victorian pathway athletes Matilda Garrett (Adelaide Thunderbirds), Alice Teague-Neeld (West Coast Fever) and Liz Watson (Sunshine Coast Lightning) have also been selected, reflecting the ongoing strength of the Netball Victoria pathway.
The squad features 18 of the country’s top athletes, along with four invitees, reflecting Netball Australia's ongoing commitment to growing squad depth. Invitees will join the squad at all training camps over the next 12 months in an opportunity to showcase their talents and capabilities in a national high performance environment.
“We’re really excited to bring this group together and continue building on court success over the next 12 months,” said Australian Diamonds head coach Stacey Marinkovich.
“This squad brings together world class experience and rising talent, with a focus on connection, preparation and collective growth. The leadership from our experienced players named will inspire a competitive high-performance environment that can both challenge and support our younger athletes, while our youth will bring a new perspective and skill set to the mix.”
The squad will come together for a five-day high performance camp at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra in early September. A second preparation camp will follow from 19 September, leading into the Diamonds’ South Africa Series and Constellation Cup in October.
Victoria will host the opening match of both series, when the Diamonds take on South Africa in Bendigo and the Silver Ferns at the Vixens' home court, Melbourne's John Cain Arena. Every match of both series will be broadcast live on Kayo Sports and Foxtel.
