Sharpshooter Rahni Samason

With the season over it’s time to look back on the year that was for our Vixens, with sharpshooter Rahni Samason the next player under the microscope.

Earning herself a full time SSN contract in season 2022 after an unforgettable debut last year, Rahni quickly lived up to the hype.

Hitting the court in Round 1 against the Firebirds, Rahni proved she was a force to be reckoned with, slotting 15 goals straight to help guide us to our first win of the year.

Her long-range shooting was a focal point of her game play, nailing 11 Super Shots throughout the home and away season, while her composed nature out on court was also pivotal.

Rahni consistently showcased her versatility, moving between goal shooter and goal attack and connecting with MJ Kumwenda, Kiera Austin or Ruby Barkmeyer as seen in the preliminary final against the GIANTS.

Despite missing several rounds through injury mid-season, her return to the court was impressive. Injected into the game at half time in the Victorian Derby, Rahni stepped up to slot 10/11 at 91%.

Her dynamic movement, willingness to shoot from range and strong positioning provided a different look for us inside the circle and helped us to secure the win in the last game of the home and away season.
