WHAT TO EXPECT
It’s expected to be a competitive contest as the Vixens come up against Lightning, who currently sit sixth on the ladder and are pushing to break into the top four. The Vixens, however, will be focused on continuing their dominant form and extending their unbeaten streak into double digits with a tenth consecutive win. A key matchup to watch will be the wing attack battle between Zara Walters and Lightning’s Liz Watson, with both players set to bring strong pressure through the midcourt. Walters has been in impressive form this season, recording 28 feeds, 18 goal assists and 17 centre pass receives the last time this pair met back in Round 4, highlighting her growing influence and consistency in the Vixens’ attacking end.

11th player Maggie Caris will step into the side, replacing Emily Mannix who will miss the match due to illness.

ONE TO WATCH
Jo Weston will be one to watch in the defensive end, with the Vixens defender continuing her consistent form and strong start to the season. She currently sits second in the league for defensive rebounds with 17 to her name so far. A key pillar in the Vixens’ defensive unit, Weston has been a reliable presence and is expected to play a crucial role again this weekend.
