Watson leads Diamonds to Quad Series victory
The Australian Diamonds have claimed the Quad Series title with a win over the Silver Ferns in the final in Cape Town.
Liz Watson has captained the Diamonds to their seventh Quad Series crown in Cape Town.
The Diamonds fought their way back from an early four-goal deficit to defeat the Silver Ferns 56-49 in the final.
Watson and her Vixens teammates Kate Moloney and Kiera Austin played crucial roles throughout the series, each looking to book their place on the plane back to South Africa for the Netball World Cup in July. Vixens and Diamonds defensive stalwart Jo Weston sat out the Quad Series with a minor calf injury.
Currently held by New Zealand, the World Cup is the only major trophy missing from the Diamonds' cabinet following a hugely successful 2022.
