Four Vixens have been named in the 18-strong 2022-23 Origin Australian Diamonds squad, announced tonight ahead of this year's Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

Star midcourter Liz Watson will captain the Diamonds, and her Vixens co-captain Kate Moloney has also been named in the squad.

New recruit Kiera Austin will return to the Diamonds, having debuted for the Vixens this season following an ACL injury that sidelined her for all of last year. Austin has hit the ground running in the opening rounds of the Suncorp Super Netball season.

Defender Jo Weston has also been selected in the squad, her dogged style, long arms and closing speed on show again so far this season.

The Diamonds were crowned champions at the Netball Quad Series in January and are ranked world number one ahead of the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games, which will take place from July 29 to August 9.

The 2022 Commonwealth Games team of 12 athletes will be selected from the Diamonds squad.

The squad was selected by head coach Stacey Marinkovich and national selectors Anne Sargeant OAM and Michelle Wilkins.

Netball Australia is currently working through the Origin Australian Diamonds international fixtures, including the Constellation Cup, with more information to be shared in thecoming months.
