The Melbourne Vixens will look a little different in 2019 with the reveal of the new playing dress, thanks to PUMA.

PUMA is set to make its return to the Australian netball court next weekend with the Melbourne Vixens unveiling their 2019 playing dress, debuting at Suncorp Super Netball’s official pre-season tournament in Brisbane.

After months of collaboration between the players and Official Apparel Partner PUMA, the new high performance dress is durable and resistant, sporting PUMA’s trademark neckline, a racer back and curved hemline.

Created with needs of a professional netballer front of mind, the dress design incorporates DRYCELL technology to manage moisture and mesh side panelling for increased breathability. The design pays homage to the Vixens’ Phoenix and Kestrels club history featuring reflective PKNC initials.

Melbourne Vixens’ defender, Emily Mannix said the new-look dress represents a new era of the Vixens, while still paying tribute to the history of the club in the Phoenix and Kestrels.

“It’s been great working with PUMA to bring together this vision that reflects what we are as a team; honouring the past with the traditional Vixens colours, while making a stand as our own team,” said Mannix.

“To have a brand like PUMA on board is fantastic in this new era of the Vixens, and I’m really looking forward to being a part of it over the next few years.”

Supporting the Vixens on and off the court, PUMA is focused on the continued evolution of women in sport.

Having partnerships with the Richmond Football Club and Melbourne City across their male and female properties, the Vixens join an exclusive and well-represented PUMA family.

Pancho Gutstein, General Manager PUMA Oceania, believes the partnership will help usher Suncorp Super Netball to a new market and fans.

“We look forward to collaborating with the Melbourne Vixens to bring more netball to the people,” Gutstein said.

“PUMA wants to make a mark on netball and to be a part of the development and growth of women’s sport more broadly,”

“It has been fantastic to work with the Melbourne Vixens on an apparel partnership that addresses the needs of both the players and their fans.”

PUMA was announced as the Official Apparel Partner of the Melbourne Vixens beginning in 2019. The four-year deal will see the Melbourne Vixens added to PUMA’s high-profile sporting sponsorship portfolio that includes some of the most iconic sporting brands and individuals on both a domestic and international scale.
