The Melbourne Vixens have partnered with FightMND for their Round 7 game against Collingwood Magpies on the Queenâs Birthday long weekend, on Monday, 10 June.
The Vixensâ game at 12pm will precede the AFLâs Queenâs Birthday clash where former Vixensâ defender Bianca Chatfield will take part as a slider in the Big Freeze 5.
FightMND beanies will be available to purchase at the Vixensâ game, while activities around âThe Denâ will raise awareness and funds for the debilitating disease.
Melbourne Vixensâ defender Kadie-Ann Dehaney said sheâs proud of the support the Vixens are giving this great cause.
âI have seen the AFL community get behind FightMND and the Big Freeze in particular, so Iâm really proud that we at the Vixens are able to help in spreading the word about this disease that has taken its toll on too many lives,â said Dehaney.
âIt will be a great day for a great cause and I really hope everyone can get behind it not only at the Vixens game but in the netball community by purchasing a beanie, especially in this cold Melbourne weather!â
FightMNDâs Campaign Director Bec Daniher said:
âFightMND is delighted to partner with Netball Victoria for this year's Big Freeze 5 campaign and we greatly appreciate their support in the fight against MND.
âThe opportunity to be involved at the highly anticipated 'derby' match between the Melbourne Vixens and Collingwood Magpies Netball is incredibly valuable to the work we do in raising funds and awareness.â
Tickets to the Vixensâ Round 7 match against Collingwood Magpies are available through Ticketek.
Through their connection with the Danihers, Boroondara Netball Association will hold a FightMND fundraiser this Saturday, 1 June with a silent auction and raffle prizes to be won and a visit from Melbourne Vixensâ goaler, Mwai Kumwenda. For details, visit https://www.bna.org.au/
