With two games in four days, there was no shortage of star performances across Round 9 and 10. We’ve dug into some of the standout personal statistics from our two wins on the road.

Shooters:

Inside the goal circle there was no stopping Mwai Kumwenda, who only missed one goal in her past two outings. MJ shot at 100 per cent in Round 9 and nailed 45 from 46 against Fever in Round 10 to sit third in the league for number of goals scored, with 403 to her name.

Her shooting partner Kiera Austin also impressed under the post in Round 10 with 23 goals from 28 attempts. But as it has been all year, her work out the front was vital – Kip racked up 13 goal assists, a game-high 28 centre pass receives, two deflections and an intercept. She also played a huge role in Round 9 against her former side, contributing 15 goals and 14 feeds in our overtime win over GIANTS Netball.

Midcourt:

The impact of Hannah Mundy was impressive in Round 10, the wing attack providing plenty of unstoppable drives and intensity around circle edge. Mundy clocked up 36 feeds against Fever – 20 of which were goal assists. Her efforts across the court did not go unnoticed with her preliminary work and vision into the circle on show throughout the match. Mundy’s work at the centre pass was also valuable, registering 18 centre pass receives.

Liz Watson dazzled in Round 9, amassing 46 feeds and two intercepts. That momentum flowed into Round 10, where she backed it up playing 60 minutes in centre off a two-day break, and recorded a team-high 51 feeds. She was simply unstoppable with ball in hand, hitting the circle edge with pace and precision. Her co-captain Kate Moloney was influential across both rounds with 15 goal assists in Round 9 and then a switch to wing defence in Round 10 to shut down Fever’s avenue to Jhaniele Fowler.

Defence:

Olivia Lewis’ athleticism and leap was on show in Round 10, picking up five deflections, two intercepts and four gains against her old side. Emily Mannix also got busy on the stats front with four deflections, including three rebounds, in her Round 9 outing against the GIANTS. She backed up her efforts in Round 10 when injected into the match at half-time, collecting two pickups. Partner in crime Jo Weston was also influential across both matches, gathering eight deflections across the two games despite only playing the first half in Round 10. Weston also ventured into a new column on the stats sheet, registering a goal assist thanks to a precision bullet pass.
