The Melbourne Vixens have revealed their 2025 First Nations Round dress, designed by artist and proud Wiradjuri woman Miah Pearce.

Pearce’s design, titled ‘Stronger Together’, was created through a consultation process with Netball Victoria and the Vixens, and reflects the team's strength, unity and growth.

The dress will be worn twice as part of Suncorp Super Netball’s league-wide First Nations Round, set for Rounds 7 and 13 to align with recognition of National Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC Week.

Pearce’s artwork features gathering places, symbolising the seven athletes on court, the unity and journeys of the broader team, and the support the Vixens receive from coaches, staff, supporters and our community. Animal tracks symbolise the Vixens’ journey as a team coming into the 2025 season; how the group is learning, growing, and focused on the future.

Pearce also included empty spaces to represent the future and the team’s path to the chapters still to be written, as well as one lone gathering place. This reflects the 2024 season – its victories, its heartbreak – and while it stands alone, it remains connected to the rest of the story.

“This design means so much to me – not just because it’s on a national stage, but because it weaves my culture, my community, and my love for netball into one,” said Pearce.

“Designing this artwork has been one of the most significant milestones in my journey as an artist, especially because it’s for a sport that has been such a big part of my life.”

The Vixens will first wear Peace’s design this weekend against the Queensland Firebirds, in their Round 7 clash at Brisbane’s Nissan Arena on Turrbal and Yuggera Country, and again in Round 13 when the Firebirds travel to Melbourne to play at John Cain Arena on Wurundjeri Country on Sunday 6 July.

Merchandise items featuring Pearce's artwork will be available for fans to purchase, with all proceeds supporting Netball Victoria's First Nations pathway programs.
