Olivia Lewis has advised the Melbourne Vixens that she will not return to the club for the 2024 Suncorp Super Netball season.

Lewis played 24 matches for the Vixens across two seasons in navy after crossing from West Coast Fever ahead of the 2022 SSN season, including notching up her 50th national league match in round 14 this year.

The 24-year-old defender quickly became a fan favourite with strong performances against some of the world’s best shooters, showcasing her exciting anticipation and elevation against much taller opponents.

“Liv has brought great energy to our environment over the past two seasons, and we thank her for her contribution to the club,” said General Manager Vixens, Performance & Pathways Megan Simpson.

“It was a significant decision for Liv to move across the country to join us two years ago and we’re proud of how much she has contributed to our group in her time with us. While we know our fans will be disappointed not to see Liv in navy next season, we wish her the best as she takes on a new opportunity.”

“I am so grateful for the way I was embraced by not only the club, but the fans and the wider netball community in Victoria,” said Lewis.

“I’ll always cherish my time at the Vixens, and am so grateful that I was able to be a small part of such an amazing club. I wish the girls and the club nothing but the best in 2024 and beyond.”

Further announcements regarding the Vixens’ 2024 list will be made in due course as negotiations continue between Netball Australia and the Australian Netball Players’ Association regarding the Collective Player Agreement.
