LAST TIME THEY MET
Round 2, 2025
Vixens (61) defeated GIANTS (55) at John Cain Arena

WHAT TO EXPECT
The Vixens are knocking on the door of the top four after defeating the Firebirds by 18 goals last weekend, charging themselves into fifth place ahead of this week’s clash with the GIANTS. A dynamic performance of speed, connection and full-court defence last weekend, the Vixens will be looking to bring that exact outfit to Ken Rosewall Arena on Sunday, while the GIANTS remain hungry for their second win this season.

The last time they met, the Vixens brought an attacking masterclass with the top three rated players on court - Hannah Mundy (38 feeds and 24 goal assists), Kate Moloney (25 feeds and 14 goal assists) and Kiera Austin (16 feeds and 10 goal assists). The visitors will be looking to bring that energy and movement again this weekend, especially through the midcourt where their defensive efforts continue to produce gained ball.

Should Moloney match-up against Jamie-Lee Price in the middle, the Vixens' skipper will be ready to absorb Price's pressure and work with her teammates to nullify her impact. With both sides hungry for a win, it will come down to who can maintain their composure, deliver full-court pressure and take their chances at the post.

ONE TO WATCH
Kate Eddy will be one to watch this weekend after putting on a dynamic performance against the GIANTS in Round 2. The versatile defender banked 4 deflections, 6 centre pass receives and 2 rebounds, and will be looking to apply some serious hands-over pressure through the midcourt. Eddy can be the difference in close games, contesting every ball and forcing feeders off circle edge, meaning all eyes will be on her on Sunday should she need to lock down the agile Maddie Hay.

THE NUMBERS
63 – The last time the Vixens went up against the GIANTS, Kate Moloney and Hannah Mundy banked 63 feeds between them. The attacking pair have grown their connection across this season, and have proven difficult to stop when their speed, agility and energy work in tandem down the court. They’ll be looking to bring similar energy this Sunday as they attempt to march their side to a crucial win, as the top four begin to take shape.
