LAST TIME THEY MET

Round 12, 2021

Fever (64) defeated Vixens (50) at Nissan Arena

WHAT TO EXPECT

The top of the table clash between West Coast Fever and the Melbourne Vixens is going to be a thriller, as both sides vie to keep their unbeaten record alive.

Missing Mwai Kumwenda last time we met, the goal shooter will be hoping to maintain her hot form and impose herself against Fever captain Courtney Bruce who is coming off a strong defensive performance in Round 3.

The combination of Kumwenda and Kiera Austin impressed in Round 3 while the injection of Rahni Samason into the circle could provide a new dimension to our attack end.

The midcourt battle will be one to watch with Kate Eddy looking to disrupt Verity Simmons’ access to star goaler Jhaniele Fowler, while Liz Watson and Kate Moloney will be hoping to use their speed and precise ball movement to transition down court with ease.

The partnership between Emily Mannix and Jo Weston will have to be on song to limit the influence of Sasha Glasgow and Alice Teague-Neeld, who are focal points for the Fever frontline.

ONE TO WATCH

Up against her former team, Vixens goal keeper Olivia Lewis will be hoping to use her insider knowledge to have an impact out on court against the Fever powerhouse in Fowler. With her impressive elevation and read of the play, Lewis will be aiming to disrupt the flow of the ball and propel it back down the court.
