LAST TIME THEY MET
Round 14, 2022
Magpies (54) defeated by Vixens (56) at John Cain Arena
WHAT TO EXPECT
The cross-town rivalry continues as the two Melbourne teams clash once again at our home of elite netball, John Cain Arena. The Vixens will be keen to get a win on the board in their first match at JCA for the season and will be full of confidence after their incredible defensive effort against West Coast Fever last week. The Magpies are looking to extend their winning streak, having defeated the Swifts convincingly at home in Round 1.
ONE TO WATCH
This battle will be fought in the midcourt, after the Magpies’ combination of Molly Jovic, Ash Brazill and Kelsey Browne made life hard for the Swifts last week. Our midcourt superstars Kate Moloney, Liz Watson, Kate Eddy and Hannah Mundy will be looking to shut down their speed and control the pace of the game. With the exciting versatility across her squad, coach Simone McKinnis will have plenty of different combinations to reach for to combat the Magpies through the middle.
