WHAT TO EXPECT
The Vixens will be eager to avenge their disappointing loss in last year’s final as they come up against the reigning champions on their home turf again.
They’ll have a little extra to fight for as head coach Simone McKinnis notches up her 150th match in charge, a significant milestone her side will no doubt want to mark with a win.
WA local Liv Lewis will be gearing up to take on Jhaniele Fowler in the circle – the agile defender’s famous hops will need to be primed to keep the Jamaican powerhouse contained.
At the other end, Mwai Kumwenda will likely come up against Diamonds star Courtney Bruce. MJ will need to draw on every ounce of her experience to stay composed and hold her space under the post.
ONE TO WATCH
With Jo Weston unfortunately missing due to injury, squad member Gabby Coffey will join the game day squad in Perth.
An exciting defender with a solid claim to a place in the Vixens’ Long Arm Brigade, Gabby has seen court time throughout the pre-season in Bendigo and at Team Girls Cup on the Gold Coast, building her connections in the defensive end.
If she takes the court on Saturday night, Gab will become Vixen #61.
