Four Melbourne Vixens have been named in the 19-strong 2023-24 Origin Australian Diamonds squad, announced on Thursday night ahead of this year's Netball World Cup in Cape Town.

Following an impressive international season in 2022-23 which saw the Diamonds claim Commonwealth Games gold in Birmingham and win the Constellation Cup, England Series and Quad Series, all four of our Vixens have retained their positions in the squad – Vixens co-captains and midcourt duo Liz Watson and Kate Moloney, goaler Kiera Austin and defender Jo Weston.

The Diamonds squad was selected by head coach Stacey Marinkovich and national selectors Anne Sargeant OAM and Michelle Wilkins.

A squad of up to 22 athletes can be selected, with Marinkovich saying there is opportunity for players to be elevated over the next 12 months.

The 2023 Netball World Cup team of 15 athletes, including three reserves, will be selected from the Diamonds squad.

Following the 2023 Suncorp Super Netball season, the Diamonds will assemble for a training camp before traveling to Cape Town for the 2023 Netball World Cup which will take place from 28 July to 6 August.
