• 11am – Melbourne Vixens vs West Coast Fever
• 1pm – Adelaide Thunderbirds vs GIANTS Netball

All matches will be livestreamed via the Vixens' Facebook and YouTube channels.

THE COACH SAYS

“There’s nothing like playing in front of a big crowd of Vixens fans, and we know when we head to regional Victoria that’s exactly what we get, so we can’t wait to go to Ballarat this weekend,” said head coach Simone McKinnis.

“With so many athletes on international duties until recently we do have limited time together as a squad in the pre-season period, so we really value the opportunity to get on the road as a group.

“These matches are an important part of our preparation ahead of Round 1 and I’m looking forward to seeing all the things we’ve been working on in training out on court against quality opposition.”

SQUAD UPDATE

With Emily Mannix on parental leave following the birth of her daughter Mabel in January, training partners Maggie Caris and Tara Watson will travel as part of a squad of 11 this weekend.

“We’re so thrilled for Emily and Ari with the arrival of little Mabel a few weeks ago, and with Em on parental leave it’s been fantastic to see Maggie stepping up in training,” said McKinnis.

“Maggie and Tara bring a lot to our group, they’ve come through the Victorian pathway and they’re both exciting talents so I’m looking forward to having them join the group this weekend.”
