The Melbourne Vixens will welcome midcourter Zara Walters back from injury for their top of the table clash with the Adelaide Thunderbirds in Adelaide on Saturday night.
The 20-year-old made her Super Netball debut in Round 1, impressing with back-to-back 60-minute performances against the Mavericks and Thunderbirds, before sustaining a lower back injury which has kept her out of the side since Round 4.
“We’re really pleased to be welcoming Zara back to our game day team,” said General Manager High Performance & Pathways, Megan Simpson.
“Injuries can be a challenging experience for any athlete, but Zara’s diligence and professionalism throughout her recovery process has been fantastic, and her return this week is the best reward for her efforts.”
Sharni Lambden will remain in the team in place of Kate Eddy, who continues her recovery from a lower leg injury.
“We’re hopeful Kate will be ready to return to the SSN court in the near future,” said Simpson.
“It’s exciting to see Kate completing full training sessions with the team and we’re currently integrating her back into match play simulation within our environment, so we’re hopeful we’ll see her back in the game day team in the coming weeks.”
