Member Code of Conduct

At the Melbourne Vixens, we believe that everyone has the right to enjoy all matches and events in a safe and supportive environment. This extends to members, supporters, athletes, volunteers, staff and opposition fans, staff and athletes. Please ensure you are familiar with this Member Code of Conduct, noting failure to comply can result in a termination of your membership at any time.

As a member I will:

  • Support my team at all times, always showing respect for the players' efforts on the court

  • Inform stadium staff immediately if anyone around me is behaving inappropriately so they can take appropriate action
  • Comply with all conditions of entry to the venue, including bag inspections
  • Respect all decisions made by the club, even if I disagree with them at times
  • Ensure that any banners or signs I bring along will not disrupt the view of those around me (per venue regulations, large flags/banners/posters cannot exceed 1.6m)
  • Ensure that my family and/or friends who I bring along as guests into member areas are aware of this Member Code of Conduct

As a member I won’t:

  • Engage in obscene or offensive language, cause violence, or make inappropriate gestures

  • Throw any objects onto the court, or within the venue
  • Enter the field of play at any time unless I am granted permission to do so

  • Smoke or vape within the venue, understanding that I must obey all smoking laws whilst at the venue
  • Bring any banners or signs into the venue that include abusive/offensive language or any profanities

Reporting anti-social behaviour

Reporting anti-social behaviour at the time is the most effective way to prevent further issues. If you feel unsafe or uncomfortable due to another patron’s actions, anonymously reporting anti-social behaviour is the best action to take.

The process:

  • Identify anti-social behaviour
  • Locate the venue’s anti-social SMS hotline and text through your complaint and seating location
  • The venue will assess the situation, and respond accordingly
  • You can always remain anonymous
  • Patrons can also report anti-social behaviour directly to a member of staff
  • John Cain Arena’s antiisocial behaviour number to text is 0481 609 978
