Coach

My name is Chelsea and I have been playing Netball for almost 12 years now! My favourite part about netball is the new challenge each time you get on the court and the lifelong friendships I have made. I have been coaching for 5 years now and enjoy every part of it!

Career Highlights:

My Netball journey started through the Net Set Go program when I was 7 years old. From this, I joined a local netball team within my community where I made many friends and had lots of fun! I had the opportunity to be a part of Westside Saints Representative Netball Club in under 11’s all the way through to the Open divisions at Parkville. I have always been a goaler and prefer Goal Attack over Goal Shooter - as I love to run around the court! Throughout my netball journey, I represented St Albans Caroline Springs Netball Association at Association Championships from U13’s to U17’s and was selected to be a part of Netball Victoria’s Talent Academy program. I am looking forward to being a development player as part of a the VNL team, Western Warriors.

To be the best netballer you can possibly be - hard work and determination are two key skills that I believe are the most important. There are always new skills to develop on. Practice is key – especially to be a goaler! My favourite element of coaching is how rewarding it can be through teaching others many skills and techniques and then seeing them put this into play during games.

At the start of 2023, I completed my Netball Australia Development Coaching Course which allowed me to gain a new perspective into the development aspect of skills and knowledge required for our next generation of netballers!
