Melbourne Vixens Star Goal Defence Jo Weston is looking forward to helping the Australian Diamonds successfully defend their Quad Series title this year.
The 22-year-old is currently training with the Diamonds in Perth ahead of their departure to South Africa on Sunday.
“It is a huge honour to represent Australia once again,” said Weston.
“It is going to be a different challenge, defending the Quad Series on opposition territory, but I am looking forward to the opportunity.”
The Australian Netball Diamonds will launch their campaign against New Zealand Silver Ferns in Durban on Saturday 28 January, before facing South Africa and England the following week.
The Quad Series will provide Weston with another opportunity to bond with her teammates, as they look to impress Head Coach Lisa Alexander, with the Commonwealth Games fast approaching in 2018.
“Looking ahead to the Commonwealth Games, I think it is important to continue building rapport with the team, experiences like this are priceless.”
Fellow Melbourne Vixens defender Emily Mannix will join Weston on the plane to South Africa.
The former Drysdale Football Netball Club junior will be one of three Training Partners to join the Diamonds touring squad, providing her with another invaluable opportunity to improve her game in an elite environment.
