Chloe Watson has capped-off a fantastic year of Suncorp Super Netball with an invitation to attend the Australian Fast5 Camp.
Watson, along with Laura Scherian (Sunshine Coast Lightning) and Kaylia Stanton (West Coast Fever), has been named as a reserve for the series and will join the team in their pre-tournament preparations at the Fast5 training camp from 4-6 October.
Watson’s selection follows her impressive first year of regular court-time for the Melbourne Vixens in Suncorp Super Netball.
Her versatility would no doubt prove an added benefit for Fast5 – she has the ability to switch into the defensive circle.
Watson finished the season with 17 deflections and 14 intercepts and was awarded the Excellence in Sport and Life Award at the Sharelle McMahon Medal awards night.
Watson will join fellow Vixens Kate Moloney and Tegan Philip with the team, with Emily Mannix a late withdrawal due to extended Samsung Diamonds commitments. Mannix was a late call-up to the Diamonds team for the Quad Series, and remains with the team for the upcoming Constellation Cup against New Zealand.
The Fast5 World Series will be held on 28-29 October at Hisense Arena, Melbourne.
