The Samsung Australian Diamonds have finished the 2018 Quad Series undefeated, claiming the title as four Vixens helped the team to success.
iz Watson, Jo Weston, Emily Mannix and Kate Moloney all played pivotal roles for the Diamonds in the series win, reclaiming the trophy from arch rivals New Zealand.
Both Weston and Watson received Most Valuable Player (MVP) honours in the matches against England and New Zealand, impressing against some of the world’s best.
Weston continues to impress for the Diamonds against some of the world’s A-Class Goal Attacks.
Playing in the second two Tests against England and New Zealand, Weston continued to form an impressive defensive relationship with Courtney Bruce, and Vixens teammate, Emily Mannix.
Receiving Match MVP honours against England, Weston went from strength to strength in the series.
The 23-year-old finished her two matches with eight gains, four deflections and six rebounds.
Continuing to solidify her position as one of the best WA’s in the world, Watson showed her class against some of the game’s best.
Claiming Match MVP in the final game of the series against world number 2, the New Zealand Silver Ferns, Watson demonstrated her ability to find her way to the circles edge, making 22 goal assists for the match. Watson finished the series with 51 goal assists and 102 circle feeds.
Mannix added another two Tests to her name after making her Diamonds debut in September.
Impressing in her two matches against England and New Zealand, Mannix claimed one intercept, one deflection and two gains in her three quarters.
Moloney continues to impress in the green and gold.
Our newest Diamond debutant came onto court in the third quarter against South Africa and made an instant impact, pairing up with Watson in the midcourt.
Watson, Weston, Mannix and Moloney now return to Melbourne to continue preparations for the 2018 Suncorp Super Netball Season.
