Ingles returns to the den

Defensive midcourter Renae Ingles will return to the Vixens’ den, signing on as a Training Partner for the remainder of the 2018 season.

Ingles will travel to Sydney this week, to replace Chloe Watson (illness).

Having retired from the Adelaide Thunderbirds at the end of the 2017 Suncorp Super Netball season, Ingles has spent the last 11 months in Salt Lake City, Utah with her young family – twins Jacob and Milla (almost two) and husband, Joe who has been playing with NBA team, Utah Jazz.

Seven years after her last game with the Vixens, Ingles said it was an honour to ‘come home’.

“I’ve been so excited just to get home to Melbourne to be with my family and then the opportunity came up to come in and train with the Vixens which to me is just a dream come true,” said Ingles.

“I’m so excited to be back home playing netball in Victoria.”

“The Vixens always play a very exciting brand of netball so I’m excited to get in and train with the girls.”

Ingles returned home from Utah last Tuesday morning, stepping onto court in the Bupa Victorian Netball League on Wednesday night for Melbourne University Lightning.

“She still loves the game and still wants to play," said McKinnis. “She’s just got so much experience and she’s fit and strong and raring to go, so we invited her in to train and she’s rapt about it, and so are we.”

Second placed Vixens travel to Sydney this weekend to take on third placed GIANTS Netball at Quaycentre on Sunday.
