Melbourne Vixens and Netball Victoria are pleased to announce Kelsie Rainbow as a Vixens Training Partner for 2017.
Rainbow becomes the fifth Vixens Training Partner announced, joining Kim Commane, Tayla Honey, Maddy Balson and Kate Eddy.
Melbourne Vixens Head Coach Simone McKinnis is excited by the dynamic Rainbow can add to the team.
“Kelsie brings extra support through the mid court with her speed, agility and ball skills, and has so much room for development and growth with the squad,” said McKinnis
A member of the 2016/17 Australian Netball World Youth Cup Squad, Rainbow moved to Victoria in 2015 after a promising junior career in Tasmania.
Her incredible work ethic exudes high performance behaviours, which is a big credit to the Netball Tasmania High Performance program.
Since arriving in Victoria, the 20-year-old has been a standout performer for Monash University Storm in the Victorian Netball League, with her form in the mid court rewarded with a call up to the Victorian Fury mid-way through 2016.
“I am really excited by the opportunity to join the Vixens,” said Rainbow.
“I think it will be chance for me to learn and get as much out of it as possible.”
“There is so much experience amongst the team and I think it will be a great opportunity to get out there, and to be in an environment at the highest level.”
In addition to her training commitments with the Melbourne Vixens, Rainbow will represent the Victorian Fury in the Australian Netball League (ANL).
