Netball Victoria is ready to change the game in 2021 with their new campaign 'Fearless'.
This is Netball Victoria. This is Melbourne Vixens. This is Fearless.
Launched at the 2021 Season Launch, the movement builds on the championship winning 2020 ‘Witness Fearless’ campaign, encouraging the whole Victorian community to PLAY, LEAD and WITNESS Fearless.
Creating this change within the netball community is about optimism and uniting all individuals as one, and Netball Victoria CEO Rosie King wants the Victorian netball community to feel empowered.
“We all know 2020 was tough, and we saw not only our fearless Melbourne Vixens overcome the challenges to win the Suncorp Super Netball championship, but our entire netball community adapt and take on new ways of delivering and engaging in the sport” said King.
“Netball is more than just a sport - we want our community to live and breathe the fearless ethos in their lives. At the elite level, we already know this is how our Vixens operate, and the fearless ethos continues throughout the grassroots netball community whether you are a player, coach, official or volunteer.”
The campaign hero piece tells the fearless story through the 2020 championship match highlights and incorporating community netballers throughout, to showcase PLAY, LEAD and WITNESS Fearless.
The 2020 Suncorp Super Netball champions, the Melbourne Vixens, will be looking to lead the way on and off the court, to reach new and current supporters and increase their connection with the community.
“We want to empower the community and the Vixens are taking charge to be fearless in 2021,” 2020 championship co-captain Kate Moloney said.
“Netball is fearless, and netballers are fearless athletes. Fearless is about disregarding the doubts and driving forward in the pursuit of what we believe in.”
The 2020 ‘Witness Fearless’ campaign movement launched mid-season, with the backing of Melbourne Vixens’ partner, PUMA, and was established to encourage current fans to Witness Fearless by lifting the lid on inequality. The new campaign goes further, by encouraging the community to PLAY, LEAD and WITNESS Fearless in all aspects of their everyday life.
A key component of the campaign is for Netball Victoria to reach the unconverted to become supporters, turn the supporters into fans, the fans into members and increase their connection with existing members, as well as re-invigorating the local netball community which was heavily impacted by COVID-19 in 2020.
The Fearless campaign will come to light throughout 2021 across Netball Victoria's social channels, as well as at all Melbourne Vixens home games and in the grassroots netball community.
The 2021 Suncorp Super Netball season commences Saturday, 1 May, where the Melbourne Vixens begin their FEARLESS 2021 season, taking on grand final opponent West Coast Fever in Melbourne at John Cain Arena as their rivalry enters a new chapter.
Melbourne Vixens season tickets go on-sale Wednesday 14 April at ticketek.com.au with more information to be released next week.
