Suncorp Super Netball (SSN), run by Netball Australia is the principle professional netball competition in Australia, and widely regarded as the world's best domestic netball league.
Eight teams from Australia compete in SSN including two Victorian teams: Melbourne Vixens (a Netball Victoria owned team) and Magpies Netball.
The Melbourne Vixens franchise was launched in 2008, following the amalgamation of the Melbourne Phoenix and Melbourne Kestrels elite netball teams that participated in the pre-existing National Netball League Competition (1997-2007).
The Melbourne Vixens compete in Australia’s premier netball league, Suncorp Super Netball.
