Tickets on sale for The Central Victorian Netball Festival

Tickets are now on sale for the Central Victorian Netball Festival to be held from 23-25 March in Bendigo.

It is set to be the biggest community netball event regional Victoria has ever seen, and forms
part of Netball Victoria's strategy to increase the presence of the sport in country areas.

The event program boasts a raft of netball activities including school visits, a Women in Leadership event, coaching and umpiring workshops, community netball clinics and three VNL curtain raiser matches prior to the Melbourne Vixens v Adelaide Thunderbirds game.
 
Developed by the broader Bendigo community in partnership with Netball Victoria, the event
aims to increase the profile of netball in the area, including netball at the highest level. Local
stakeholders involved in coordinating the event include the three major netball associations
in the region Golden City, Strathdale and the BFNL, Bendigo Stadium as well as valuable
support from the City of Greater Bendigo Council.

Russell James, Acting CEO of Netball Victoria said Bendigo is a strong netball hub and the
event will allow the region to showcase the passion and talent of its netball community.

"Its been great to see the Bendigo community working together on this project to help
strengthen and grow netball in the area. Were looking forward to seeing the event come to life and celebrating all of the netball players, coaches, umpires, administrators and supporters who contribute to the success of netball in central Victoria, James said.
 
Some of the countrys top netball talent will take part in the event including Sharelle McMahon, former Melbourne Vixens co-captain, who will be the guest speaker at the Women in Leadership breakfast, and Melbourne Vixens coaches Julie Hoornweg and Eloise Southby-Halbish who will host the coaching workshop.
